You are invited to the inaugural Lake Basin Innovation and Investments Week 2019, 18-22 November to meet and interact with over50 speakers, innovators, exhibitors and thousands of event attendees.

This year we highlight innovators and entrepreneurs, the people and businesses who dare take the path to solve real societal and environmental challenges around the lake basin of Kenya.

The Lake Basin CEO’s Dinner is a regional conference spearheaded and organized jointly with key stakeholders dedicated to the private sector in the Lake Basin Region and hosts the region CEO’s, Founders, local and international investors, experts and high-level policymakers every year.

Hack4LakeBasin brings together stakeholders from all the 14 counties in the lake region and innovators to work on technical solutions around the following thematic areas: Agriculture, Blue Economy, Youth Entrepreneurship, Financial Inclusion, Health, and Youth Employment.

The Junior Makers Hackathon is a full day of STEAM activities for kids between the ages of 8 – 16 years from the Lake Victoria Region/Basin. This event aims at enhancing their innovation and entrepreneurship at an early age.

The hackathon shall focus on the following; Alternative Funding and Access to credit, Incubation and Acceleration, Capacity Development, Youth and Women Development and Employment, Use of technology, Legal Environment and regulations, Implementation Framework.

The Lake Basin Business Leaders Awards recognizes entrepreneurial initiatives that take innovative approaches adopted by entrepreneurs in the region in realizing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, which is in line with this year’s theme of “Promoting Innovation for Sustainable Development in the Lake Basin Region”.
